Ang Soon
Executive Director

Ang Soon is Professor and Executive Director for the Center for Leadership & Cultural Intelligence (CCI) at the Nanyang Business School, Nanyang Technological University of Singapore. She also holds a concurrent appointment as Head of the Strategy, Management and Organization (SMO) division. As one of the largest divisions within the School, SMO consists of 35 full-time, 3 adjunct; and more than 15 part-time faculty in Strategy, Organizational Behavior, Human Capital Management, and Communications Management. The SMO division offers B Bus (Human Resource Consulting), MBA (Strategy), MBA (Human Capital Management), MSc (Human Resource Consulting), and PhD(Strategy and Organizational Behavior).

Ang Soon holds a Ph.D. from the Carlson School of Management with supporting field in Industrial and Organizational Psychology at the University of Minnesota. She is a world authority on cultural intelligence, human capital management, and outsourcing and has an outstanding record of research and teaching in management.

Ang Soon has published numerous journal articles, books, and book chapters. Her papers have appeared in the Academy of Management Journal, Management Science, Organization Science, Social Forces, MIS Quarterly, Information Systems Research, and others. She won international best paper awards at the Academy of Management, Hawaiian International Conferences in Systems Sciences, and the Association of Computing Machinery (ACM) on Computer Personnel Research, and best reviewer award from Human Relations.

Ang Soon receives invitations ands serves as external PhD examiner for a number of PhD candidates in Australian and European Universities. She is on international editorial boards with key leadership responsibilities in Management Science, Organization Science, Management and Organization Research, Journal of Organizational Behavior, Information Systems Research, JAIS and others. She was also presented with the best reviewer award for her contributions to editorial services by the Human Relations journal.

Ang Soon co-authored a book (with Chris Earley, London Business School) on the theory of Cultural Intelligence published in late 2003 by the prestigious Stanford University Press). A follow-up book (co-authored with Earley, and Tan Joo Seng, CLCI) on the management practices of Cultural Intelligence at Work will be released in 2005.

Ang Soon and her team at the Center for Leadership & Cultural Intelligence (together with Linn Van Dyne, Michigan State University), has developed a globally validated assessment tool for cultural Intelligence. The theory and measurement of cultural intelligence have been widely disseminated in top academic conferences in management and cross-cultural psychology, including the Academy of Management meetings (AOM), the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP), and the International Academy of Intercultural Research (IAIR).

Ng Kok Yee
Director, Research

Ng Kok Yee is Director of Research at the Center for Leadership & Cultural Intelligence (CLCI) at the Nanyang Business School, Nanyang Technological University of Singapore. She is also Assistant Professor in Organizational Behavior and Human Capital Management in the Division of Strategy, Management & Organization at the Nanyang Business School.

She received her PhD from Michigan State University, with a major in Organizational Behavior and minor in I/O Psychology. Her research interests are in cross cultural I/O psychology and international organizational behavior, focusing in areas such as cultural intelligence, leadership and negotiation.

She has published in the Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Applied Psychology, Organizational Behavior & Human Decision Processes, and Management Science.

Cheryl Tay
Director, Cultural Assessments

Cheryl Tay is Director of Cultural Assessments at the Center for Leadership & Cultural Intelligence (CLCI) and Assistant Professor of Organizational Behavior and Human Capital Management in the Nanyang Business School, Nanyang Technological University of Singapore.

She received her PhD in Organizational Behavior and Management. She develops and innovates on learning and teaching pedagogies for the MBA and undergraduate programs. Her wide research interests include cross cultural adaptations and performance in diverse work and organization settings, focusing on cultural intelligence, leadership and other individual attributes.

She has presented papers at top academic conferences in management, including the Academy of Management meetings (AOM), and the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP).

Christine Koh
Director, Technology and Psychometrics

Christine Koh is Director, Technology and Psychometrics at the Center for Leadership & Cultural Intelligence (CLCI), and Assistant Professor of Information Technology & Operations Management, at the Nanyang Business School, Nanyang Technological University of Singapore.

She holds a PhD and Masters of Science in Information Systems. Her research interests are in IT outsourcing, focusing on vendor and employee management in international, cross-cultural contexts.

Her papers have been published in Group & Organization Management, Information Systems Research, Journal of IT Cases & Applications, and Journal of Global IT Management.

Thomas Rockstuhl
PhD Student

Thomas Rockstuhl is a PhD student at the Center for Leadership & Cultural Intelligence (CLCI) in the Nanyang Business School, Nanyang Technological University of Singapore. He received his Masters in Occupational Psychology at the Technological University in Dresden, Germany, and worked as a HR/OD consultant for three years before joining NBS. His research interests are in assessment and training of cultural intelligence as well as performance of multinational teams.
